Amrit Harmonium Industries is making harmoniums since 1961. It is one of the biggest harmonium manufacturing unit in India producing harmonium more than 2000 per month.
Amrit Harmonium is the combination of old heritage technique mixed with modern day technology that goes hand in hand to provide the best quality harmonium. With its in-house wood drying plant the wood is drying to a certain temperature so that it does not bend or tear under any weather. Amrit Harmonium has been making harmonium for all the big brands of India since 1961 and now decided to launch their own Brand by the name of “AMRIT” giving all its customer the highest quality Harmonium and very affordable price.
While folding harmoniums are certainly very popular, there are two definite advantages to the standard box style:
1) Sound: On a standard boxes naturally produce a warmer, richer tone because the resonate surface is not physically broken into two or more pieces.
2) Durability: Folding harmoniums are prone to issues specific to all the extra moving parts. A simple standard box will have none of those problems.
It's also good to note that most standard harmoniums are still very portable. Ours always comes with a padded gig bag, and many of them will weigh the same or even less than similar folding models.
